Here are some guideline pointers – decide which you feel most comfortable following. If you’re just starting out, you may want to work with just one paint color on the walls throughout your home. You can always build on that later. Better to take it gradually, than to feel that you’ve overstepped the mark & don’t like it, can’t live with it, & have to redo it.

You have your walls painted, you’ve chosen or already have your sofas & armchairs, you’ve worked out your color scheme. Now you’re ready to take the next exciting steps. Against your basic color canvas, you would have already put some thought to the way you would carry your colors through your rooms, your home – either graduations of your key colors, or complementary, or contrasting. Play with colors & fabrics you would like to make a statement with in your home accents & accessories.
If you are bold, use bold colors & accessories – in reds, dark blues, greens, purples, browns & blacks – try the wonderful color aubergine. To explore Home Decorating with Color further, go to this section of my website
